Lithium-ion gaining traction

It’s good to see hotly tipped products pass through the design & trial phase and come to fruition.

Lithium-ion powered pallet trucks were pioneered by Jungheinrich a few years ago, when they were described as a step change in forklift design.

A couple of years down the line and the product is showing market success, as seen by this case study outlining how Barfoots, a specialist vegetable grower, is using the EJE 112i in and around its despatch areas.

The truck has been praised for its compactness, maneuverability and the fact that it can be opportunity charged.

Barfoots logistics manager David Cooper says: “The EJE 112i is small and ideal for multi-lift, short journey work. We have found that a single charge is sufficient to power a truck for up to five hours.”
